I think I suddenly understand!?

I have not read the koran, but i watch the news, i hear all the time that these terrorists commit attrocities against us for their god and the greater good, do any of you understand, and i mean actually understand the thinking behind this?
I have not read the bible (in full) either, but from my deductions I *think* its something not very many of us (australians, americans, english, french, etc) comprehend. And do you care cause you probably should if its not somthing you have thought about it is very important.
The bottom line (imho) is this, what do you think?
(brief background on my thinking):
God gave each and every one of us the will to choose our own path in life, god himself does not control the actions of people in the world, THEY DO, and i feel this is pretty much why horrible things unravel in our lifes, by our own hand and actions. It makes me sad when people blame god for their misfortune.
You have a choice a hundred times a day, each time you choose the wrong path its kinda like a point on the scoreboard for satan, and when you choose right, Jesus.
To skip ahead...
From as far as i can tell, the 5000 years (i think?) has allready been and gone, judgement day should allready be apon us, like 1000 years ago! Which makes me think, this right and wrong choices thing, or the battle between good and evil, as explained in the bible has somehow continued on alot longer than first planned.
How do we fit into all of this and why am i digressing, IM NOT
Is it true, that from an extremists point of view, our very way of life is a constant string of sins that marks up that point for satan or evil at an alarming rate, for literally millions of people, every day? If you were an extremist or someone whos life revolves around their religion on a massive scale that alot of us will never understand, would you not kill to stop satan or evil from being elected into power? Would you not do anything in your power to help the greater good?
In case some of you are wondering lol! I am not an extremist muslim, i am a single caucaision, 31 year old australian male with a christian background.
Finally i think i understand why these terrorists want to see us dead, I dont think its fair, i think they promote evil or satan and chalk points onto that board for evil everytime someone dies by the hand of a extremist terrorist, at a much more alarming rate, as killing, to me, is probably the single worst sin a person can commit.
What do you think?
